White Oaks Residence
This new house in an established 1940s neighborhood is hard to pin down as the new kid on the block.
Rich in texture and details commonly found in old European vernacular houses, an unassuming luxury begins with the stone exterior and carries through to the refined interior. A traditional floor plan enhanced by generous openings between rooms creates good flow. The house supports a busy family life and also has a few surprises: a dumbwaiter is a clever link to all three floors; a hidden paneled door is a secret shortcut between hall and master closet; and a ladder tucked inside a cupboard leads to an attic play space.
It is a grand house set in a neighborly way that combines traditional formality with a warm welcoming spirit.
