The inside and outside were carefully composed for a seamless fit with the character of the original house. A small amount of square footage was added in just the right places, resulting in a transformed family living space. Attention to details like species of wood and stain color, vintage tile, and lighting dovetail the new and old interiors together. The dramatic front porch columns provided inspiration for the kitchen island legs. The basement hall graduated to a full fledged mudroom, including lockers with outlets for cell phones and boot warmers, a drop zone with cork board, a stacked washer and dryer and daylight to brighten the way.
