East Harriet Renovation
The addition hugs the north lot line so as not to block the view from the older part of the house to Lake Harriet. A stair tower creates a side entrance and mudroom while expanding the cramped upper landings. The new kitchen is now the hub of the house. It overlooks the family room and french doors open to the formal dining and living room. The master bath is light filled with a treetop view of the lake. The distinctive steel windows from the house were carefully recomposed in the addition making the line between new and old undistinguishable.
