With the original farmhouse in shambles, the new owners envisioned a modern but classic brick foursquare farmhouse to complement the existing barn and property. The new house is nestled near the pond and future orchard and offers a more commanding view of the surrounding landscape than the original house had. The core of the house is a perfect brick square, with clapboard-clad sunroom, breakfast nook and garage gathered around it. An expansive porch wraps around the house, providing great views of the restored barn, stable and open fields which are being carefully restored to native prairie.
